USGS reported: HVO Kilauea ORANGE/WATCH - Kīlauea volcano is not erupting; the summit eruption in Halemaʻumaʻu is paused. Precursory overflows started yesterday afternoon, but stopped overnight during summit deflation. A forecast window of September 8-10 is likely for the start of episode 55.
USGS moved the alert level from ADVISORY to WATCH.
