Fires near Messina today
Right now
Satellite heat detections within 50 km of Messina, last 24 hours: none recorded.
2 in the last 7 days; the latest 5 days ago, the nearest 35 km away.
The wind could not be read from MET Norway just now.
A satellite sees heat, not a wildfire: it cannot tell a fire from a controlled burn or an industrial flame, and sees nothing under thick cloud. A plant that is hot all year is counted here like any other detection: the page of each one says when heat is seen there in every season.
