Fires near Otavalo today
Right now
Satellite heat detections within 50 km of Otavalo, last 24 hours: 2 records.
5 in the last 7 days; the latest 17 hours ago, the nearest 28 km away.
Wind at this point: from the north-east at 4 km/h (forecast for 12:00 UTC, MET Norway, CC BY 4.0).
A satellite sees heat, not a wildfire: it cannot tell a fire from a controlled burn or an industrial flame, and sees nothing under thick cloud. A plant that is hot all year is counted here like any other detection: the page of each one says when heat is seen there in every season.
